This series of animal-themed jewelry begins with a teaspoon featuring the King of Beasts—the lion—gazing up at the predawn sky over the African savanna. The sky is studded with myriads of stars, dawn is breaking on the horizon, and the figure of the lion stands out against the greenery, whose pattern begins at the silver base.

The lion’s mane and background are crafted using the hot stained-glass enamel technique; the lion’s body and the spoon’s handle are covered with hot cloisonné enamel, which is then painted with overglaze refractory paints. Each color is fired individually in a muffle furnace at 700–860 °C. The teaspoon is fully functional.

The photos show two teaspoons featuring a lion, finished in gold and silver enamel. The photos are unretouched and unedited; the color of the enamel changes depending on the lighting—in bright sunlight, the stained-glass enamel shimmers with a spectrum of colors, refracting light like a kaleidoscope.
